1. Who we are
Diamond Play is owned and operated by Julius Tech Hub (J.T.H) (“we”, “us”), which runs the music streaming service at https://www.diamondplay.name.ng. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can learn more about Julius Tech Hub (J.T.H) at julius.diamondplay.name.ng.
We handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and other applicable data protection laws.
2. Information we collect

Payment cards. Diamond Play does not receive or store your card number, expiry date or security code. Online payments, including payments for paid promotions, are taken by our payment partner Paystack on its own secure page, and Paystack handles your card or bank details itself. Online payments are being introduced in stages and may not be available yet; until they are switched on, no payment data is collected.
3. How we use your information
- Create and secure your account, verify your email address and reset passwords.
- Check that you meet our minimum age of 13, and give you a unique username.
- Deliver the service: play music, save your library, show your history and keep playback, likes and playlists in sync.
- Count streams so artists see accurate play numbers (a stream is counted after 30 seconds or 50% of a track).
- Show and measure advertisements on the Free and Premium plans, and to report ad performance.
- Send service emails such as verification, password reset and security notices, and in-app notifications.
- Respond to support requests and review artist applications.
- Review and run paid promotion requests for verified artists, confirm payments with Paystack, and issue refunds when a request is not approved.
- Detect abuse, fraud and copyright violations, and keep Diamond Play safe and reliable.
- Meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
4. Why we are allowed to use your data
- Contract: to provide the service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests: to secure and improve the service, prevent abuse and measure streams and ads, balanced against your rights.
- Consent: where we ask for it, for example optional features. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
7. International transfers
Our providers may process data on servers outside Nigeria. Where that happens, we rely on providers that apply appropriate safeguards, such as contractual protections, as required by the NDPA.
8. How long we keep data
- Account and activity data: for as long as your account is active.
- Deleted accounts: when you delete your account, we remove your personal data, except what we must keep for legal reasons or to prevent abuse, and backups that expire on their normal cycle.
- Support messages and applications: for as long as needed to handle them and for a reasonable period afterwards.
- Promotion and payment records: for as long as needed for accounting, tax, refunds and dispute handling, which can be longer than the life of your account.
- Aggregated or anonymised statistics, such as total streams, may be kept indefinitely because they no longer identify you.
9. Security
Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text, connections use HTTPS, and access to our systems is restricted. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us right away if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
10. Your rights
Under the NDPA and similar laws you can:
- Access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data. You can edit most details in your profile.
- Delete your data. You can delete your account in Settings.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where we rely on it.
- Receive your data in a portable format where applicable.
- Complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) if you think we have mishandled your data.

11. Your privacy controls
In Settings → Privacy you can choose whether to show your email, show what you are listening to, make your profile private, allow follows and appear in search. In Settings you can also manage notifications and delete your account.
12. Children
Diamond Play is not intended for children under 13, and where local law sets a higher age for consent to data processing, not for anyone under that age without a parent or guardian's consent. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If changes are significant, we will notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
